Job Satisfaction of Nursing Staff at al-Haffa National Hospital in Latakia

Job satisfaction is a psychological state in which the employee’s personality is integrated with the requirements of his work. There is a close positive relationship between job satisfaction and performance, quality of work, so the job satisfaction of the nurse is a crucial element for the success of the health process. Therefore, the present study aimed to measure the level of job satisfaction among nursing staff. A study was carried out in Al-Haffa National Hospital at Lattakia. A descriptive approach was followed and a research was conducted on an available sample consisting of 50 nurses. The results revealed that the highest percentage of the sample were neutral regarding measuring their level of job satisfaction, more than one third of the sample were satisfied with their job. A study recommended the necessity of introducing job satisfaction into the concept of work quality, as well as distributing each individual according to his efficiency, academic and practical qualifications in the appropriate place, linking the nurse's performance to the incentives and benefits given to him, and paying attention to equal opportunities among colleagues for promotion at work.
