The role of educational activities in developing some leadership behavior skills among kindergarten child from the female teachers' point of view (A field study in the city of Latakia)

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the role of educational activities in developing some leadership behavior skills among kindergarten child from the female teachers' point of view, and to reveal whether there are differences in the role of educational activities in developing some leadership behavior skills among kindergarten child from the female teachers' point of view according to the variables of academic qualification and number of years of experience. To achieve the research objective, a descriptive approach was used, and a questionnaire was constructed which consisting of (61) phrases distributed over four axes that included these skills (communication, cooperation and teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making), it was applied to a sample that consisting of (157) female kindergarten teachers in the city of Latakia. The results showed that educational activities have a role in developing some leadership behavior skills among kindergarten children from the female teachers' point of view with a high degree. The results showed that there were no statistically significant differences according to the academic qualification variable, and no differences according to the number of years of experience variable on the research tool as a whole, and on both axes (communication skill and problem-solving skill), while statistically significant differences were found with regard to the skill of cooperation, teamwork, and decision-making skill. Based on the results, a number of proposals were presented, the most important of which was the need to develop stimulating environments which would be rich in stimuli in kindergartens that support the development and refinement of leadership behavioral skills at children, and to hold specialized training courses and workshops for kindergarten teachers within the framework of distinct professional development programs.
