" The grammatical and morphological formation of the active participle and its meanings in the Diwan of Abu al-Atahiya "Formation of the active participle as a model""
Abstract
Morphological formations are the basic template from which the original meaning of words emerges، and there is no doubt that they complete their meanings from their grammatical formations in the textual context. If the morphological formation is the result of the relationships existing between the phonemes in a single word، then the grammatical formation is the result of the relationships existing between the words in the sentence، whether they are apparent or hidden. This refers us to deducing meaning from the context and the connection of the word to other words. The research studies the morphological and syntactic formation of the active participle in Abu al-Atahiya’s Diwan، focusing its study on the (formation of the active participle) in particular، trying to explore the meanings intended by Abu al-Atahiya through investigating the morphological and syntactic formations، citing appropriate evidence from the Diwan. This came after he defined the derivatives linguistically and technically. The research attempts to investigate the way Abu Al-Atahiya adapted the formation of an agent in his poetic uses، which helps in understanding the depth of the creative work and the intentions that Abu Al-Atahiya wanted to convey to the recipient.
