The Systematicity of "First person pronoun" in Zubayriyat Ubayd Allah bin Qais Al-Ruqayat
Abstract
It is no secret to the reader of Umayyad literature that politics played a role in programming the literary awareness of poets who began to favor the rulers around them out of desire or fear, and this is the case of the poet Ubayd Allah ibn Qays al-Ruqayyat, who declared his absolute loyalty to the Zubayrids in their political battle against the Umayyads and other opponents in Other parties that the Zubairis did not succeed in agreeing with any of them; This is because the new era of the state and civilization did not reach its peak with Ibn al-Zubayr, who failed politically before he failed militarily.
In any case, our poet declared loyalty in his praise of Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr and his brother Musab, and his “ego” was immersed in the grind of the group and he was proud, but the implicit pattern showed his “ego” longing to emerge from the cocoon of marginality and search for a place for itself in the text that belonged to the praised. The community is the reins of distinction and sublimity after the poet’s “ego” was exhausted in weaving the threads of this text, so it refused to have a share in it in the context.
