The level of health habits among fourth year students in Physical Education College and Human Medical College at Lattakia University (Comparative Study)

Abstract

The research aims to identify the level of health habits among fourth year students of the Faculty of Physical Education and  fourth year students of the Faculty of Medicine, in addition to studying the differences in the level of health habits among students of the Faculty of Physical Education and the Faculty of Medicine. The researcher used the descriptive approach with a survey method. The research sample consisted of (60) male and female students ( 30 from each of the Faculties of Physical Education and Medicine). The Healthy Lifestyle and Personal Control Questionnaire (HLPCQ) was used as a research tool, the questionnaire is consisting of (26) statements . The most important results were that the level of health habits among students of the Faculty of Physical Education was (average), while the level of health habits among students of the Faculty of Medicine was (low). There were no statistically significant differences in the level of health habits between students of the Faculty of Physical Education and students of the Faculty of Medicine at Lattakia University. This finding emphasizes the need for targeted health awareness programs for both groups, focusing on promoting holistic health, time and stress management, and applying health knowledge in daily life, to improve the quality of academic and professional life for students of the Faculties of Physical Education and Medicine.
