Abstract

The food industry is one of the important industries in providing food security, and providing site capabilities contributes significantly to the development and prosperity of these industries. The industrial activity of the food industry sector began in the Jableh region in 1956, when the first olive oil extraction facility was established in the village of AinShaqaq, and the number of food industry facilities continued to increase until it reached 92 facilities in 2023.The research included 55 establishments based on the main agricultural crops for which the region is famous: citrus, olives, and protected crops. The site potential for these facilities was evaluated according to three criteria that the food industry requires to be available and develop: agriculture, which forms the basis for providing the raw material prepared for the industry, labor, and the road network, which plays an important role in delivering raw materials, marketing manufactured materials, and preserving products from spoilage. The research concluded that the components and factors available in the Jableh region provide broad opportunities for developing food industry facilities based on the agricultural reality of the region.
