The obstacles of using Learning content mangment system by members of the teaching staff and their attitudes towards them
(afield study in the Faculty of Education at Latakia University)
Abstract
This research aims to identify the barriers to using Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) by faculty members at the College of Education, University of Latakia. It also explores the impact of certain variables on this use, such as the number of training courses attended (one course versus multiple courses), the job title (faculty member versus technical staff), and years of experience (less than five years, from five to ten years, more than ten years). To achieve the research objectives, the descriptive approach was employed through the construction and application of a questionnaire to a sample of faculty members at the College of Education, University of Latakia, totaling 35 individuals.
The main findings of the research are:
- The barriers to using Learning Content Management Systems were rated highly from the perspective of faculty members at the College of Education, University of Latakia.
- The attitudes of faculty members towards using Learning Content Management Systems were positive.
The research relied on the descriptive method, which describes the phenomenon as it exists in reality and accurately identifies its properties both qualitatively and quantitatively. This approach was chosen because it is suitable for addressing the research problem, objectives, and questions. Data was collected by applying the research tool (the questionnaire) to the sample, which was then coded, analyzed, and discussed in the results.
