Abstract

The civilization of Andalusia was characterized by its multiplicity of social and cultural composition, as it included many diverse human elements, which differed greatly in their ethnic, human and cultural origins, including Arab Muslims (Mashreqs - Moroccans), Christians, Jews, mestizos, slaves and others. This diversity reflected the richness and strength of the civilization. Andalusianism, but at the same time it carried the seeds of weakness and the causes of deterioration and division.

Christians are a vital part of this civilization, as they played a positive and constructive role in promoting coexistence and understanding between multiple cultures and religions in that historical era, thanks to the kind treatment with which they were treated by the rulers of Andalusia, who applied Islamic teachings in dealing with all human elements present on the land. Andalusia, they did not differentiate in applying these teachings between a Muslim and others, and the Arab Muslim rulers gave them many religious, social, economic and cultural advantages, such that we did not hear during the period Al-Mudrousa (95-138 AH / 714-756 AD) means an attack by the Muslims of Andalusia on Christians, which encouraged Christians to engage and coexist with them in a positive way, and not to attack the Arab-Islamic state or harm its interests. Rather, Christians often appeared as defenders of it.
