Obstacles to developing job performance among a sample of secondary education teachers from their point of view

The study aimed to reveal the obstacles to developing job performance among a sample of secondary school teachers from their point of view in the city of Jableh. The study community consisted of all secondary school teachers in the city of Jableh, numbering (311) male and female teachers. The sample was selected by simple random method and its number was (162) male and female teachers. A study tool was developed, which was a questionnaire. It consisted in its initial form of (30) items covering three areas (organizational obstacles, personal obstacles, material obstacles). The study showed the following results: Obstacles to developing job performance among secondary school teachers in the city of Jableh from the study sample members are present at a medium level and with a relative weight of (59.43%), and personal obstacles came in first place in terms of the degree of presence; With a medium presence and relative weight of (59.88%), followed by organizational obstacles with a medium presence and relative weight of (59.55%), then material obstacles with a medium presence and relative weight of (58.82%). The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the study sample members on the questionnaire of obstacles to developing job performance among secondary school teachers attributed to the gender variable, and there were no statistically significant differences in the level of obstacles to developing job performance among secondary school teachers among the study sample members on the questionnaire as a whole and on its three areas attributed to the variable of academic qualification and years of experience.
