The Role of Effective Family Upbringing in Preventing Discrimination Against Women and Creating Social Distinction for Them

A Field Study in Latakia City

Abstract

The research aimed to study the relationship between effective family upbringing, prevention of discrimination against females, and creating social excellence for them. The research used the descriptive-analytical approach, using the questionnaire as a research tool, where three scales were designed, the first; effective family upbringing, which includes (emotional and human support, good role models, positive communication), the second; discrimination against females, which includes (discrimination in school, stereotypes, discrimination in social activities), and the third; social excellence, which includes (educational excellence, social interaction, community empowerment). The research community consisted of (75) female students from the first secondary grade at Adnan Jaloud School in Lattakia city, where the research sample was limited to (60) female students from Adnan Jaloud School in Lattakia Governorate for the academic year 2024-2025. The results showed that there is a strong and significant correlation estimated at (82.1%) between effective family upbringing and prevention of discrimination against females from the point of view of the female students in the research sample. There is also a strong and significant correlation estimated at (88.4%) between effective family upbringing and social discrimination from the perspective of the female students in the research sample. Among the most important recommendations: Calling on researchers to conduct additional studies to determine the effectiveness of various family programs and interventions in reducing discrimination and promoting social excellence.
