Positive thinking skills and their relationship to social communication skills among sixth grade learners " a field study in Latakia city"

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the relationship between positive thinking skills and social communication skills in the social studies subject in the city of Lattakia.

To verify the research objectives, the descriptive correlational approach was used, and two questionnaires were prepared, one for positive thinking skills and the other for social communication skills. The research sample consisted of (282) male and female learners for the academic year 2024_2025.

The most notable results were achieved

The degree of possession of sixth grade learners in city of latakia by positive thinking skills and social communication skills in the social studies subject is average.

Sixth grade learners possession of positive thinking skills was moderate to the skills of accepting personal responsibility it is low for the skill of love and cognitive openness and high for the skill of positive expectations and optimism

Sixth grade learners have high verbal social communication skills, while non- verbal communication skills are low.

The relationship between social communication skills and positive thinking skills is direct, and social communication skill increase in positive thinking among learners, the researcher made several Recommendations, the most important of which are: training basic education teachers to use positive thinking skills and social communication skills in the educational process in social studies.

The necessity of developing positive thinking skills and social communication skills among sixth grade learners.
