The Role Of Listening And Questioning Skills In Social Worker Success

The aim of this research was to examine the extent to which social counselors successfully apply two key skills—interviewing and listening—with students in the first cycle of basic education in Latakia.
Methodological Framework: This includes the research problem, its questions, the significance and objectives of the study, in addition to a review of previous studies, relevant concepts, methodology, and tools. The theoretical framework addresses the two skills (interviewing and listening), while the methodological procedures of the field study cover the hypotheses, target population, sample, study fields, unit of analysis, questionnaire tool, and data processing.
There are statistically significant differences related to the level of questioning skills among counselors working in Latakia schools, based on the "Questioning Skills" scale, according to gender.
There are no statistically significant differences in the levels of listening and questioning skills among counselors in Latakia schools based on educational qualification, participation in training courses, or years of experience as a social counselor.
