Thinking and Its Roles in Human Life Between Well-Being and Ill-Being
Abstract
Thinking is a constructive human function closely connected to human life since man is a social being; it recognizes him from other creatures, defines his identity; hence man has elevated historically speaking due to his elevating thinking.
Though human thinking has been intimately intertwined with meeting the basic expectations of human life, still it has been relatively independent via progressing and complicated social life. Such independent and developing thinking has played an essential role in constructing the sublime civilizations. However, the essence of the developing thinking has not been without flaws; these flaws have reflected negatively on human life and the flow of his civilization. Thus, there has emerged a demand to rethink the thinking seeking its stability, revision, rectifying deviations and positively redirecting it. This rectification is a sustainable process that guarantees development and progressing. The history of philosophy has been pregnant with distinguishable endeavours that tend to rethink and reorientate the thinking. It is inevitable to resume processes of revision, rereading and rectification as is inevitable to comprehend the terms of thinking and identifying the tools and strategies that help instigate the development of learning in a way that contributes to elevating the critical faculty of the thought, crystallizing it and motivating creativity quite constantly as a precondition to challenge crises and provide solutions to the current and emerging problems.
