Abstract

European energy security was exposed to serious repercussions as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war. This war led to a rise in energy prices, especially oil and natural gas, and also to a shortage of supplies to European countries, which exacerbated the energy crisis in Europe and the difficulty of securing the needs of European countries, especially with regard to securing domestic gas. Therefore Europe resorted to searching for new sources of energy, as several alternatives emerged, including reaching new suppliers and also trying to activate new lines and paths to transport energy to Europe In addition to focusing on activating renewable energies, including solar energy and wind energy, these alternatives were hindered by several obstacles, including the fear of activating new energy paths, especially by the countries through which these lines pass, for fear of the consequences of activating these paths and their impact on international relations, and also the weakness of the capabilities of new exporters. Which makes achieving these alternatives difficult in the current period.
