Evaluating The Reality Of Applying E-Management In The Telecommunications Sector

A Field Study In The Syrian Telecommunications Company

Abstract

The research aimed to evaluate the reality of applying e-management in the Syrian Telecommunications Company, by determining the level of application of e-management functions by the Syrian Telecommunications Company, represented by: e-planning, e-organization, e-guidance, and e-control. The research relied on the analytical approach as a general research approach, where a questionnaire was designed and distributed to a convenience sample of employees in the studied company, and the number of questionnaires valid for statistical analysis was 215 questionnaires. The research concluded that the Syrian Telecommunications Company applies e-management in its administrative activity, and as one of the contemporary administrative concepts at a high level, and the level of application of e-management functions in the Syrian Telecommunications Company can be arranged from the highest application to the lowest application according to the following: e-guidance, e-control, e-organization, and e-planning. The most prominent recommendations of the research are: strengthening the company's database and its sub-directorates for use in the e-planning process, keeping pace with and applying the latest software to provide permanent security in the e-work environment, adopting advanced electronic models to evaluate performance that suit the nature of the work, and reducing the impact of personal relationships using e-communication processes.
