Abstract

In this paper, we have studied one of the important problems which is the classification of class groups according to the order. Especially, we have studied the classification of order 4 class groups of the family of real quadratic fields  where  is a positive squarefree integer, depending on the factor of the principal ideal  in   where  is an odd prime divides , and a lower bound for the class number of . In addition, the concept of class zeta function and generalized Dedekind sum.
