Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in improving the quality of university education from the perspective of faculty members. To achieve this objective, a descriptive methodology was employed, and a questionnaire was designed and administered to a sample of 67 faculty members at the Faculty of Education, Latakia University. The results showed that the overall perception of AI applications' role in improving the quality of university education, as perceived by faculty members at the Faculty of Education, was moderate. The first theme (Uses of AI in the Educational Process) ranked first, while the third and fourth themes (Challenges Facing the Use of AI and Requirements for Activating AI in University Education) ranked second and third, respectively. The second theme (Impact of AI on the Quality of University Education) ranked last. All themes received moderate ratings. Furthermore, no statistically significant difference was found between the mean scores of faculty members regarding the role of AI applications in improving the quality of university education based on academic rank or years of experience.
