"The Ideals of Tribal Pride in the Poetry of the Ten Pre-Islamic Poets"

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the manifestations of the ideal in tribal pride in the poetry of the authors of the ten pre-Islamic poems، those poets who represented the pinnacle of artistic expression in the pre-Islamic era. Their poems were clear mirrors reflecting the systems of values and ideals that the tribal society believed in، in an environment dominated by challenge and survival of the fittest. It clarifies how these texts contributed to establishing an ideal image of the collective self in the Arab society before Islam، and how the poets expressed a comprehensive moral and social vision that embodies an ideal tribal model، where the poet identifies with his tribe and presents belonging to the tribe as a means to dignity and immortality. It also explores how the ideal was formed in the poetry of pride as a system of attributes that represent the ultimate goal of the Arab human being. Thus، the image of the victorious tribe in the battlefield، adhering to the values of loyalty and nobility، appears as the highest model that the pre-Islamic poet strives to embody first and to declare it above others second.
