The Role of Strategic Planning in Enhancing the Efficiency of Scientific Research among Faculty Members at Latakia University from their point of View

Abstract

       The research aimed to identify the role of strategic planning in enhancing the efficiency of scientific research among faculty members at Latakia University from their point of view, and to reveal the significance of the differences between the responses of the sample members based on (type of college, experience, and academic rank). To achieve the research objectives, a descriptive survey method was adopted, through the design of a questionnaire consisting of (50) statements, implemented on a sample of (246) faculty members at Latakia University.

The results of the research showed that the role of strategic planning in enhancing the efficiency of scientific research among faculty members was at a moderate level with an average (2.58), and (51.6%) according to the perspectives of the sample individuals. The results also showed no statistically significant differences in the responses of the research sample individuals regarding the role of strategic planning in enhancing the effectiveness of scientific research based on (type of college and experience), while there were statistically significant differences based on the variable of academic rank in favor of faculty members holding the rank of (Professor, Associate Professor, and Lecturer).
