The Degree of Availability of Creative Leadership Skills among School Principals of the First Cycle of Basic Education in Latakia City from the Teachers’ Perspective

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the degree of availability of creative leadership skills among school principals of the first cycle of basic education in Latakia City from the Teachers’ Perspective.

and reveal the differences between teachers’ views on the degree of availability of creative leadership skills to (academic qualification, experience). The research sample included (212) teachers. A questionnaire was constructed consisting of (36) statements that measure the creative leadership skills among school principals, distributed over three areas (Initiative, originality, perseverance, leader's sensitivity to problems).

     The results showed that the degree of availability of creative leadership skills, from the Teachers’ Perspective, was average, also the results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of teachers regarding their assessment of the degree of availability of creative leadership skills among their school principals, due to the academic qualification in favor of holders of an educational qualification diploma, and according to the training courses in favor of teachers who underwent training courses, while there were no statistically significant differences between the average scores of teachers regarding their estimate of the degree of availability of creative leadership skills among school principals due to the experience.
