Evaluation of the Information of Nursing Department Heads about Crisis Areas and their Management in the Hospital

Abstract

Crisis management in hospitals or any health organization is very important because of its impact on the health organization، as all crises that usually occur outside the hospital walls in the outside community flow into the hospital. Therefore, the current study aims to evaluate the information of nursing department heads about crises and their management in Al Watane hospital. The sample included 54 nursing department heads working in Hospital in Tartous. The data were collected using a tool developed by the researcher. The results showed that the percentage of department heads who are aware and have correct knowledge of the types of crises (physical, chemical, economic, health, social) and their causes, impact, and the role of hospital management before the crisis with regard to crises is generally weak. The level of awareness of nursing department heads of crisis management in the hospital was generally average, and a good number of sample members were aware of the existence of a crisis management plan at the hospital level. The level of knowledge of the Guinean individuals that the organizational structure is flexible enough to help the hospital management deal with crises when they occur was good.
