Quality of Work Life and its Relationship to Job Alienation Among Nursing Staff at Lattakia University Hospital

The current study aimed to determine the relationship between quality of work life and job alienation among nursing staff at Lattakia University Hospital in Lattakia. The sample consisted of (490) nurses working at Lattakia University Hospital, representing (35%) of the size of the study population who were present during the data collection period, (Convencence Sample) the researcher used the Anderson & Brooks (2005) tool which was translated and approved by Taweel and Sbeira (2021) to assess the level of quality of work life, And the Seeman (1959) tool developed by Sabr (2013) to assess the level of job alienation. A five-point Likert scale was used to collect data related to the study, and after collecting and transcribing the data, it was statistically processed and tabulated using the SPSS statistical program.
The results showed that there was an inverse correlation with significant statistical significance between quality of work life and job alienation among nursing staff at Lattakia University Hospital, while the level of quality of work life for nursing staff was generally moderate, as the level of both the dimensions of work life/home life, and work design was work environment and work world are moderate.
The level of Job alienation of nursing staff was moderate. The level of each of the dimensions of Powerlessness, Meaninglessness, Normlessness, and Social Isolation was medium, while the dimension of Self-estrangement was high.
