Abstract

This study presents the optimal design of the  renewable  Hybrid Energy System  which consist of Photovoltaic (PV) ,Fuel Cells (FC) and an electric analyzer with hydrogen gas tank. The optimal components of the proposed hybrid system are achieved using the (AEO) Artificial Ecosystem Optimization  algorithm to reduce the cost of energy (COE). The reliability index is considered from the Loss of Power Supply Probability (LPSP) and cost of energy with the proposed constraints. The proposed hybrid system is suggested to be located in the spinning factory Latakia Governorate, Syria ( length 35.8 and width 35.5). In a related context, the RETSCREEN program was used to obtain the solar radiation and temperature data. Matlab/Simulink software package has been used to simulate and evaluate the overall system and the proposed algorithm. The obtained values were 0.1358$/KWh for COE, 0.4 for LPSP for the proposed constraints in this work.
