The Impact of Hybrid Work in Job Engagement: A Field Study of Private Banks in Damascus Governorate

Abstract

The study aimed to demonstrate the impact of the hybrid work system, with its dimensions (spatial and temporal flexibility, organizational support for hybrid work, and hybrid work culture), on job Engagement, represented by (vitality, dedication, and integration), in private banks in Syria.

The inductive approach was adopted in this study. The study population included employees in private banks in Damascus Governorate. A random sample of administrators working in various job positions (manager, department head, administrative employee) was taken.

The study found a high level of hybrid work implementation in private banks in Syria, in addition to a high level of job Engagement among employees in private banks. There is a significant positive impact of hybrid work across its dimensions (spatial and temporal flexibility, organizational support for hybrid work, and hybrid work culture) on job Engagement (dynamism, dedication, and Engagement) in private banks in Syria.

The study recommended a comprehensive review of current hybrid work policies, with a focus on gathering employee feedback on their experiences, challenges, and preferences within the current hybrid model. This will help modify policies to maximize productivity and employee satisfaction, thereby maintaining and improving the high level of hybrid work adoption.
