Abstract

The article aims to compare the effectiveness of Exponential Distribution (with one parameter) and Gamma Distribution (with two parameters) in estimating the death and survival probabilities for two gender (male and female),and it determines probability Cumulative Functions for both distributions, and estimates its parameters by using The Moments Method, It evaluates the suitability for both distributions by using (Kolmogorov-Smirnov) test , PPplots, and the Sum of Square Errors (SSE).

To compare the Models, Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) and corrected Akaike Information Criterion (AICc) has been used. The study was concluded that Gamma Distribution is the best of this estimation process and more suitable for modeling death and survival probabilities, according to the models used in this study
