Evaluating the possibility for transforming into a smart faculty
Case study the Faculty of Economics at Lattakia University

In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which has obligated countries across the world to undergo digital transformation in every sector, including education, the research aimed to assess the availability of transformation requirements to a smart college at the Faculty of Economics at Lattakia University. The research adopted a deductive approach, utilizing a case study approach and quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to process the primary data collected through questionnaires and direct interviews from the perspectives of faculty members and the college administration. 175 questionnaires were distributed, of which 165 were returned, representing a response rate of 91.43%.
The research found significant differences between the requirements for transforming to a smart college and the it's availability at the Faculty of Economics. Accordingly, the research recommended identifying the stages of digital transformation within an educational institution to understand the current stage of the institution, indicating that the Faculty of Economics is currently in the second stage.
