Abstract

Fish are an important source of nutrients necessary for the functioning of the body's various organs, and they are also a good source of protein and vitamins, and an essential element because they provide omega-3 fatty acids.

In addition, the study of fish parasites is one of the most important global research areas concerned with fisheries.

This study aimed to investigate the occurrence of endoparasites of Sparisoma Cretense fish. Morphology, site of infection, prevalence of the parasites. Fish samples were collected from different locations on the coastof Tartous, during the period between June 2023 to May 2024. The total number of fish examined was 50 individuals. Total length were measured. In this study, two types of nematode parasites were isolated: Anisakis sp. and Contracacum sp,which were isolated from the inner wall of the intestine.

During our current research, this species was from Sparisoma cretens fish, and the life cycle of this parasitic species was detailed.
